With a matter of days before Summer Jam takes place at The Brewery Quarter, we're delighted to announce the line up of what is set to be our best festival yet! With an exciting mix of music styles to suit all tastes; from rock and roll to rock, disco funk to reggae, we can guarantee we'll have you toe-tapping whilst you enjoy an array of food and drink in the forecasted-to-be-sunny quarter.
Summer Jam takes place at The Brewery Quarter on Saturday 4th (1-9:30pm) and Sunday 5th August 2018 (1-7pm). Let us know you can come on our Facebook event page here!
Here are details about the performers. This page will be updated regularly so keep a look out!
Confirmed outdoor bars include Brewhouse & Kitchen with their beers brewed on site, Cosy Club with their Tanqueray Gin and tonic bar and Pimms bike, Babel with their Double Dutch flavoured tonics bike and Prosseco bar, along with Hollywood Bowl selling soft drinks, snacks and draught cider.
Saturday 4th August
1 - 1:50pm Tadstock introduces: Reuben Lovett and the Confusion
Reuben Lovett is a folk rock, musician and song writer based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. He is focused on composing and playing original material both as a solo artist and as front man for The Confusion.
Reuben continues to develop his musical skills, having taken on the role of session player with both Floorboards, and Edd Donovan and the Wandering Moles. He is currently working on a couple of different film scores. Reuben's music is sensitive and thoughtful, with a soulful drive, angsty guitar work, and delicious vocal lines.
2:10 - 3pm The Mark Walby Accoustic Trio
Mark Walby is a familiar face on the covers band circuit and has played with a wide variety of household names during his 20 years as a professional musician. Some of which have included:
Cheryl Cole, The Saturdays, Jools Holland, Bastille, Belinda Carlisle, Professor Green, Katherine Jenkins, Alesha Dixon, Pendulum, Girls Aloud and Ocean Colour Scene.
Having performed at previous Summer Jams and other Brewery Quarter events, we're delighted to welcome him back!
3:15 - 4:05pm The Jonny Oates Band
With a modern, raw twist and backed by wonderful musicians, 21 year-old Jonny draws from his influences (Springsteen, Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Counting Crows) to create a very exciting and diverse sound. The band uses its unique line-up including, guitars, drums, mandolin and saxophone to create a phenomenal live show full of brooding, poignant tracks and anthemic, rousing numbers.
In 2017 the band won the Battle of the Bands Competition at The Ferret, Preston, and supported Big Country on the 30th Anniversary of their Seer Tour. The band also released their debut EP ‘Tennessee’. Named "Discovery of the Year," at U.S radio station Indie Music People.
4:25 - 5:15pm Durandau Ballet
Durandau Ballet formed in late 2016 and are dedicated to recreating the sounds of the two of the most popular bands of the 80s/90s. Durandau Ballet perform a whole hour of hits from each showcased band. The band has over 50 years of live performance experience and features an amazing lead vocal performance from Rich who can reproduce both the signature baritone of Tony Hadley and the pop power of Simon Le Bon.
At Summer Jam the band are promising an hour dedicated to Duran Duran: so get ready to be taken on a musical journey back to the 80's/90's...they'll have you singing along to 'Rio','Girls on Film' and 'Hungry Like the Wolf' in no time!
5:35 - 6:30pm The Strays
The Strays have been described as No Doubt meets Chuck Berry meets Imelda May. Fast, loud, raucous garage rock n roll! Currently rockin’ the local festival scene, they are gigging tirelessly to spread their sound through the UK. “After doing quite a few out of town gigs we are thrilled to be part of such a great community event right on our doorstep. Home crowds are the best!”
The Strays ethos is simple, to produce vibrant, exciting music that people just want to move to, (and move fast!) with a nod to vintage style and rock and roll, topped with a modern gritty vibe.

6:50 - 7:50pm HEADLINERS: Just Shut Up and Dance
A loud and raucous set of soul, funk, disco and pop covers providing an eclectic mix of entertainment. What happens at a Just Shut Up and Dance gig…stays at a Just Shut Up and Dance gig. So go on, really enjoy yourself... Lead singer Camilla Lewington recently starred on BBC 1's "All together now"
‘I can’t tell you how excited w e are to be invited back for another Summer Jam at The Brewery Quarter! It’s got to be the BEST street party in Gloucestershire!’ - Camilla Lewington - lead singer of JSUD.
8:10 - 9:30pm HEADLINERS: Kingsley Salmon (full band)
With a blend of dark roots and soulful reggae inspired by the Jamaican sounds of the late 70’s and early 80’s. The up and coming band is fast making a name for itself, so definitely worth a watch at this year’s festival.
The band have supported the likes of Brinsley (Aswad) Forde, Earl 16, Dreadzone and Eva Lazarus and delivered stunning sets at Boomtown Fair, One Love Festival, Nozstock and many more. Kingsley Salmon is aiming high with his career and quickly making a name for himself on the UK Reggae circuit. Look out for him making movements this year.
A four day festival taking place at Kencot Hill Farm, Lechlade from 24-27 August. In previous years, young talented performers have been supported by industry professionals such as The Brand New Heavies. A family friendly festival, there are even more activities and organised events this year, such as family yoga sessions, kids treasure hunts and many more!

1 - 2:45pm Lakefest DJ Shippers
We're delighted to welcome Lakefest’s very own DJ Shippers. Sampling a set list to keep you dancing, he’ll be giving listeners a flavour of the music you can expect at this popular family friendly music festival. Featuring six stages of music programmed for four days of summer fun, and endless activities to keep the big and little kids entertained, head to Lakefest at Eastnor Castle Deer Park, Herefordshire on 9-12 August. 3 - 4pm Tux Fizz
Combining indisputable class with uncompromising style and Wedding Industry Awards© 2018 Finalists, Tux Fizz are guaranteed to deliver a show to remember. Every part of their high-energy set of party classics is performed 100% live, without the use of backing tracks for the authentic live music experience. Tux Fizz takes its inspiration from a variety of artists including Paolo Nutini, One Republic, Ben E. King, Oasis and more.
Having played at the previous two Summer Jams, we can be sure that Tux Fizz are one not to be missed. Let lead singer Chris entertain you as he wanders through the audience and be wowed by the musical talent of Gloucestershire's premier party and events band.
4:20 - 5:20pm Subduction
Subduction are a five piece reggae band from Stroud, Gloucester and Cheltenham. They deliver their own unique sound, skillfully blended with Rock, Ska, Jazz and Latin styles to create an exciting, unique and exhilarating experience.
With their impressive arsenal of quality original songs, they grab your attention from the get go and hold it firmly in their grasp. They have a great onstage presence and a strong rapport with their audiences whilst delivering an uncompromisingly powerful and groovy sound. This is reggae, but not as you know it!
5:40 - 7pm Soular
Be transported back to the era of 70's disco with Soular, who provide the very best in live disco/funk/soul music. Soular play only the very finest in disco and funk classics from Chaka Khan and Michael Jackson to modern day artists such as Bruno Mars and Daft Punk, so this band is guaranteed to keep the dance floor full at our Summer Jam.
Soular were one of The Brewery Quarter's winners of our Search for a Summer Jam Star last year and have since played again at our Cheltenham Races and Jazz Festival events. We're delighted to welcome them back for a fourth booking at this year's summer festival.
