New venue announcement: Little Centurions to take over The Play Farm

Details

New business owner brings fresh energy to The Brewery Quarter as Little Centurions takes over The Play Farm site

Cheltenham’s popular soft play venue, The Play Farm, closed recently in advance of an exciting transformation under new ownership. The business has been acquired by Little Centurions — a premium children’s soft play and café concept already thriving in Cirencester — and will reopen later this year with a brand-new look, name, and experience.

The venue located in The Brewery Quarter will undergo a full rebrand and refurbishment, before reopening. Families can look forward to a thoughtfully designed play space, comfortable surroundings and new facilities including premium WiFi, so parents and carers will have the opportunity to work remotely while their little ones blow off some steam.

Founded in 2021 by Francesca Abbley, Little Centurions has earned a strong reputation for providing a relaxed, welcoming and well-maintained environment that both children and adults can enjoy. The company is known for its exceptional customer service, attention to detail and commitment to supporting local suppliers, creating a trusted and community-focused experience.

The new Corinium Café at Little Centurions will serve a fantastic menu including freshly made toasties and paninis, delicious cakes and soups supplied by a Cheltenham-based bakery. Drinks will include Rijo barista coffee, teas, Bensons juices and Winstone’s ice creams.

Little Centurions will also offer children’s parties seven days a week, featuring 90 minutes of soft play, private party rooms, freshly prepared food options, dessert trays, and special treats for the birthday child — with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free menus available.

Francesca Abbley, owner of Little Centurions, said: “We’re so excited to bring Little Centurions to Cheltenham! Our goal is to create a space that children love and parents genuinely enjoy spending time in — a place that feels clean, calm, and welcoming for everyone.”

“We work hard to support local suppliers, invest in our staff, and maintain the highest standards of quality and safety. We can’t wait to welcome Cheltenham families to experience the Little Centurions difference.”

Demelsa Coleman, Marketing Manager of The Brewery Quarter, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Little Centurions to The Brewery Quarter. It’s fantastic to see such an established and trusted local brand bringing fresh energy, creativity and quality to this much-loved family attraction. The new concept will be a wonderful addition to our vibrant mix of leisure and hospitality venues, and we’re confident it will be hugely popular with local families.”

The rebrand marks a new era for the venue, which has entertained thousands of local children over the past decade. Under its new ownership, Little Centurions is set to continue that spirit of family fun — refreshed, reimagined, and ready for the next generation of young adventurers.
