A brand-new immersive golf experience is arriving at The Brewery Quarter this week, as The Golf Rooms at Cineworld invites the public to its soft launch on Friday 6 March.
Located within the former VIP area of Cineworld Cheltenham, the venue blends cutting-edge simulator technology with a relaxed sports lounge environment, offering visitors the chance to play some of the world’s most iconic courses without leaving Cheltenham. From beginner to winner – Trackman technology enables family fun activity right through to Tour level training and tournaments. Experience global live-play at The Golf Rooms, with players competing in real time with others across its international network!
The soft launch, running from 10am to 10pm, is designed to give guests a flavour of what’s to come ahead of the full opening, with a packed schedule of complimentary activities, friendly competition and prizes throughout the day.
Visitors can book a free one-hour social golf session and take on one of golf’s most famous courses in a relaxed, sociable format. With three time slots available, these hosted sessions are expected to be popular and advance booking is recommended. To secure a free session, visitors simply need to register here.
For those who prefer to drop in more casually, a free roll-up will be taking place outside of the main social competition times. More experienced players can test themselves in a three-hole Stableford challenge, with a live leaderboard adding a competitive edge and prizes awarded to the leading score on the day.
New to golf? The soft launch has that covered too. Throughout the day, beginners are invited to take part in a complimentary 30-minute activity session, offering a supportive introduction to the game and the chance to build confidence with guidance from the team.
There will also be a dedicated Trackman competition running alongside the free sessions. Players can download the Trackman app in advance and enter the challenge on arrival for a small fee, with additional prizes up for grabs for those who impress.
Beyond the simulators, guests can enjoy the venue’s sports lounge and licensed bar, making it just as appealing for those looking to catch up with friends, watch live sport or simply soak up the atmosphere. The Golf Rooms has been designed as an inclusive social space as much as a performance venue, welcoming complete beginners and seasoned players alike.
Scott Margetts, General Manager of The Golf Rooms at Cineworld, said: “Our soft launch is about opening the doors and letting people experience what we’re building here. Whether you’re coming to compete, practise, learn or just enjoy the space with friends, we want it to feel welcoming and accessible. Golf can sometimes feel intimidating, and this is about showing that it doesn’t have to be.”
Helen Baker, General Manager of Cineworld, added: “The Golf Rooms at Cineworld marks a major first for us. This partnership introduces an entirely new entertainment concept to Cineworld, blending immersive golf technology with the big-screen experience in a way our guests have never seen before. It’s about creating more ways to spend your time with us – from watching the latest releases to playing a round in the same destination – it’s all part of delivering a superior entertainment experience for our customers.”
Nikki Kontarines, Director of Martin Commercial Properties, managing agents of The Brewery Quarter, commented: “The Golf Rooms is a welcome addition to the destination. It strengthens our leisure and entertainment offer and brings something genuinely different to Cheltenham.”
The Golf Rooms soft launch takes place on Friday 6 March from 10am to 10pm. Free sessions must be booked in advance here.
